problem in connecting lansey ADSL modem with cisco catalyst 2950 switch.

I have a Cisco catalyst switch 2950 and a broadband connection of 1 mbps from BSNL. I try to connect the Broadband connection with the switch but unfortunately the communicatin between the ADSL modem and switch would not up.

The port on which I connect the ADSL modem did not show the link up status on the switch.

I already tried several possible configuration but all invain

If somebody have a Perfect solution just revert me back

Hi Ravi,

I dont know the ADSL Modem type, but here are some ideas -

Have you tried both a straight through cable and a X-over cable? On the Cisco, have you tried leaving Auto-negotiate on, forcing

100/full, Half/10? On the Cisco, does the interface show as down/down or up/down?

Cheers...............pk.
