MTU less than 1500 bytes on Cisco layer 3 switch

I want to configure MTU less than 1500 on layer 3 cisco switch 3550 series. Somehow can't configure less than 1500 bytes . Any clues??

Hello,

you cannot configure less than 1500 bytes, which is the standard Ethernet frame size. I guess the reason is that, generally speaking, the switch would have no reason to do anything with the client frames it receives. Are you running into a specific problem ?

Naz
