How to live/configure a Layer 3 switch in a network?
ssh switch conf term
Any more specific question in mind?
Here is a link to Catalyst 3750 Configuration Guide, you can use as reference. Most Catalyst L3 switches have the same functionality and use the same command set.

Mike, dumb question. I've was looking for reference materials for the Cisco 2821 for previous question listed in the group. Ok. Found pages for product yet no concrete comprehenive guide, anywher. Why? Does this unit belong to a subset of units covered just by the IOS? It's not necessary? Uses general router cisco commands? If you could shed some light on how Cisco issues guides, and best way to approach finding documentation. Or is this just an exception?
Generally, Cisco only rolls out a config guide for a specific hardware item if that hardware has pretty unique features that don't work the same on other platforms. Ie. their Catalyst switch line has things like QOS that work vastly different from switch to switch as you move through the different hardware boxes. Each switch generally has its own config guide.
When you get to the router boxes, they are all configured pretty much the same, what you do on a 1800 is the same as a 2800, is the same as a 7200, BFR, or whatnot. The interfaces change, you get more specific changes on the interfaces, but in general the major features are all the same.
So, yes, look in the IOS areas on Cisco's site for configuration guides for IOS on routers.
