Hello,
on a 2851 router I have a bunch of files besides the IOS. First, there is the "Cisco Call Manager Express", next there is "Secure Device Manager" and finally there is a file "ips.tar" which I don't know where it belongs to. As I am about to upgrade this router, I was looking for a newer version of this file but couldn't find any on Cisco's web pages. The newer SDM 2.2a doesn't contain one either, so where do I find some more information?

Ok.
They are all there. But in the zip-file for SDM 2.2a I downloaded from Cisco there is no ips.tar. Thus, can I savely remove it?

ips.tar is not contained in SDM-V22.zip either but it is contained in SDM-V21.zip
Cisco may have changed their file designations going from V21 to V22
Which version of SDM are you currently using ?
Personally I would just leave it there; actually I would also make a backup copy of it
It identifies itself as V2.0.
I think I'll upgrade to V2.1 first and then to V2.2 and see, whether the file will still be there afterwards.
