I have a single Cisco 4506 - out of the box settings (default config). I have s Ghost Server connected; when client PCs try to connect to the ghost server to download an image there is a delay of 60 seconds before the client sees the Ghost DHCP and starts its download. If I connect the client and server directly with a crossover the connection is instant. Are there any port settings or switch settings can use to speed up this? TIA, Ned

"spanning-tree portfast" on all user ports
There are a number of options that you may wish to apply to end device switch ports
switchport mode access no cdp enable spanning-tree portfast spanning-tree bpduguard enable # Restrict the port to one address switchport port-security maximum 1
Thanks all, I have set "portfast" and "mode access" - seems to have done the job...
