I've got a 6506 with a sup720 (WS-SUP720-3B) and 2 WS-X6704-10GE cards. The minimum ios-version is 12.2(17a)SX, but this version has been deprecated. So I tried 12.2(18)SXF (according to one of the s/w matrices) and 12.2(17d)SXB11a, but in both cases, the modules are powered off. In case of SXB11a, I even get 'not supported'. With 12.2(17)SXD, I get "Linecard received system exception" for both cards, and the cards are powered off.
Any ideas ?

what size power supplies do you have ?
the 10GE modules suck a LOT of power - 263 WATTS per.
try just one card and see if any change
Open a TAC case, could be a hardware issue.
