We seem to have a lot of trouble with Cisco boxes and shaping.
We have Cisco Catalyst 3550 24 port and SMI image. The configuration is as follows.
class-map IP match ip dscp 0
policy-map 1Meg class IP police 1000000 9600 exceed-action drop
interface Fa0/1 service-policy input 1Meg service-policy output 1Meg
The same configuration on on one of our Cisco 7604 boxes with sup32
The problem is that the shaping is done inaccurately. To get accurate shaping we have to double the policier rate. Is there a problem with our configurations or is Ciscos traffic-shaping truly bad.
