Etherchannel Configuration on 3750

I have read through the documentation on

am left with some questions regarding our situation and the best approach. We have a VMware ESX server using two bonded GigE ports on a

3750, so there are multiple IPs on the etherchannel. In a routed network where all source packets (from clients) will be coming in from a single ip (the routers interface) which type of load-balancing would be best, I would think dest-ip since that would be the only one that would be different but I am not sure. Also does anyone know whether the algorithm for LACP is better/worse than the one for standard etherchannel? TIA, Steve

Hi,

I would guess load-balancing based on source/destination ip AND source/destination port would suit you best for such a setup. Don't know if LACP is better tha pagp or the other way around.

"coming in from a single ip" is not a consequence of routing.

Coming in from a single mac address is.

Maybe you are of course doing NAT.
