Easy question - I'm just new.

I have to set up Websense on my company's network, which isn't the problem. I have the software installed and Network Agent configured. The problem is that I need to set up my core switch for port spanning, which I've not done before. I'm not even sure which switch is the core switch. I have two Catalyst 2950s, and two Catalyst 3560s. (and no one at this place to help me).

Catalyst 2950 - IP - 198.42.188.119 Catalyst 2950 - IP - 198.42.188.120 Catalyst 3560 - IP - 198.42.188.121 Catalyst 3560 - IP - 198.42.188.122

These are the IPs of the switches, maybe that helps? I just need to know how to phisically hook up to the core switch and set up port spanning so my server running 2000 can see the network traffic in order to filter. Any help is greatly appreciated.

telnet to each switch and enter the command "show cdp nei"

If you find one of the four switches has three neuighbors then it is probably the "core switch.

Thanks for the info! The only problem is, I've never telnetted to anything and don't have a clue where to start. Any info appreciated.
