Direct Interconnecting Cisco Asyc

Hi all,



I've got two Cisco AS2511-RJ (16 Async Ports, amongst others).



Just for the hell of it, I want to configure the routers with a direct (crossover) link between an Asynch port on each router, similar to using a DTE-DCE crossover cable on synchronous ports.



I can find lots and lots of infor on configuring modems, PPP, etc. but little on doing a lab environment direct crossover.



Any ideas? Otherwise I guess I gotta break out a couple of modems and a PABX to fake the WAN Dial-up connection....

use the console cable

for testing or maybe router access for admin but I would not use the built in AUX port for real data if much.

The built in AUX port can use a lot of CPU, Interupt heavy. However dedicated ASYNC modules are designed to offload the interupt traffic from the CPU.
