Cisco PIX 1000T Nic

May 25, 2007 1 Replies

Dear all, on my cisco pix 525 i have installed one fibre optic in gigabit and it works fine. Now i would like to migrate my infrastructure to copper wire, but i see on cisco web site that there is not any nic 1000T support by cisco pix. Does anybody find a 1000T nic compatible with pix ? if yes from witch manufactor ? or witch kind of chipset was installed on it ?

thanks in advance to everyboy Lorenzo

I would not be surprised if an Intel PRO/1000 didn't work but haven't tested this myself. Unless you can find a really good deal on a PIX-1GE or PIX-1GE-66 on eBay. Also, I believe you need at least 128MB RAM for 66 MHz PCI cards.
