cisco asa logging debug-trace problem

hi guys,

as far as i understand the debug-trace option to the logging command, it should redirect all debug output to the syslog server configured.

so, if i use the "term monitor" command and set up the debug stuff that i want (e.g. debug crypto isakmp 255), i see all the debug info that i want in the telnet session i am currently using. after that i issue the command "logging debug-trace". for my understanding, all the info that i saw in the monitor session should appear in the syslog logs right now.

but thats not the case. the goal is to see all the very detailed output of "debug crypto ipsec 255" and "debug crypto isakmp 255" in the syslog.

i even tried to use a logging list with class "vpn" and level debugging. that works but does not give the appropriate amount of logging (the 255 to the debug command).

any ideas?

cheers, /heri
