call manager wipes router config

I'll try this again...

OK, We config the gateways (3745 ios 12.3(11)T2) and add them to ccm ver

3.3.4sr2 all is well for a while then the routers lose their configs: (this is with no manual intervention or modifications)

CCvoicegateway#sh run Building configuration...

Current configuration : 5 bytes end

CCvoicegateway#

and now we cannot mod the configs: CCvoicegateway#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. CCvoicegateway(UNKNOWN-MODE)#

We have opened TAC cases for this but each time it gets batted between the router group & the call manager group with having to start from step 1 each time. The routers are operational at the moment, but we are concerned about them coming back after a power loss, not to mention the fact that we cannot modify them if needed. conf-reg is 0x2102 as it should be Has anyone seen this before?

You should propably use latest rebuild of 12.3(14)T rather than

12.3(11)Tx rebuilds.

What is `dir nvram:' showing? What is Your RAM status? `sh mem stat'?

CCvoicegateway#dir nvram: Directory of nvram:/

We have the new image pulled down from Cisco, but do not have a maintenance window soon to push it.

That's really weird, it seems it's wiping out also NVRAM startup config. I never saw something like that...

Did You create this backup-config yourself, or was it created by IOS?

Looks OK, usually running-config/startup-config problems are connected to low RAM conditions. Escalate TAC case and if time permits, try to schedule upgrade of this 12.3T image.

Already opened a TAC case, but it gets bounced between groups. Yeah... we have the newer image from CCO and will push it out when possible. thanks for your help with this.

You definetely have the problem with your IOS image. Just take a fresh look to your message:

  1. You have no RUNNING config, but your host name is CCvoicegateway. In this state it should be "Router"
  2. When you enter into the configuration mode, you have "UNKNOWN-MODE" prompt.

Even this two facts should force you to upgrade IOS ASAP if not faster.

Good luck,

Mike
