BGP routes disappearing

Oct 09, 2005 3 Replies

Hello,

I have 2x 2611 routers configured for BGP (the same ASN). The routers are in the same switch. One of the routers keeps the BGP routes learned from the other for only

1 minute, then they disappear. After another 1 minute, they "come back". This behaviour repeats forever. There are no such problems with other BGP sessions (with the providers). Syslog doesn't show any error either.

Regards,

Mihai

The BGP scanner runs every minute and will check if BGP next-hop is reachable; if not it pulls the oruter from the main forwarding table.

Take a specify route that is "disappearing" and monitor the reachability of the next-hop IP address

Also is synchronization disabled under the BGP routing process ?

Hello,

Yes, it is disabled. I solved the problem with a static route to the next-hop ip.

Regards,

Mihai
