ASDM trying to contact CISCO?

Dec 08, 2007 3 Replies

Why is my Cisco ASDM for my ASA 5505 trying to contact CISCO at

lbj.cisco.com

171.68.10.156:80 SYN_SENT

It seems like it only happens when I use the Real Time Log Monitor and looks like random intervals when it starts and then its constant until I shut down ASDM

As soon as I close down ASDM the connections shown with netstat -an to CISCO go away.

Checking for updates, perhaps? Not sure why it would only do it when you turn on the log monitor, however.

Some of the help docs reside on CCO. lbj is one of the names for the doc site.

Did some more testing and it only tries to contact 171.68.10.156 when I use the Monitoring...Logging...Log Buffer or Real Time Monitor Once I open that my computer running the ASDM sends SYN packets to

171.68.10.156 on port 80.

Wireshark output of the packet

171.68.10.156 TCP 2425 > http [SYN] Seq=0 Len=0 MSS=1260

That host never responds but it sure is wierd.

I have ASA version 8.0.3 and ASDM 6.0.3

Anyone else having this issue??
