asa5505 stops routing

Mar 02, 2009 4 Replies

We have a brand new asa5505 that works fine. However, randomly, it stops routing.

We can get to it with hyperterminal and reboot it, then all is fine.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or try to fix?

Thanks, Steve

Turn up logging and see what is taking place?

Licensing issue? What are you licensed for (hosts and connections)? Do a show xlate and a show local-host to see where you are. NAT Overload issue? Possible misconfiguration of the overload?

Thanks - I jut turned on logging - logging trap debug and - installed kiwi syslogd on one of my servers. Its capturing data so, lets see what turns up.

Thanks for the pointer.

Steve

No worries, as Brian_V pointed out, there could be a license issue as well.

A 'Show Version' at the command prompt should produce something similar to:

Licensed features for this platform: Maximum Physical Interfaces : Unlimited Maximum VLANs : 100 Inside Hosts : Unlimited Failover : Active/Active VPN-DES : Enabled VPN-3DES-AES : Enabled Security Contexts : 2 GTP/GPRS : Disabled VPN Peers : 250 WebVPN Peers : 2 AnyConnect for Mobile : Disabled AnyConnect for Linksys phone : Disabled Advanced Endpoint Assessment : Disabled UC Proxy Sessions : 2

This platform has an ASA 5510 Security Plus license.
