We have built a new building next door, and plan on running both buildings on our LAN. We have connected the buildings with a fiber run, and we want to add a fiber GBIC to the 3500 XL at the main office, and also to the 2950 at the new office. What do I need to do other than just physically plug the GBIC's into the ports on the switch? Any initialization, etc., needed to tell the switch I am using that port now?
