when configuring etherchannel on 2950 does it matter if the cabling in set up first before the ports are configured and turned on? in other words what are the physical steps in the process. i know the cli commands, but it would'nt hurt if someone also added them just to ensure my configs

What is at the other end of the etherchannel? Is it another switch or is it a Cisco router?
