When executing cdp neighbors detail it shows some devices with a name only.
I checked the web and CCNA-resources but I can't seem to find the answer on this question.
It could mean that those devices are non-cisco devices, but I'm not sure. Anybody know what this means ?

Not sure if this is the answer but I had a group of 2950's that went out with bad configs... VLAN 1 was not turned up. The switches worked but acted very odd including what you are describing below.
Can you telnet to the equipment?
