problem with booting XP when connected to cable network

I have a new laptop Toshiba Satellite P15-S479 with Windows XP. I have cable modem - Toshiba PCX2500. I am having trouble to boot Windows XP when network cable from the modem is plugged in into the laptop. The screen shows IP address for the client, gateway and does not do anything. When I turn the computer on while network cable from the modem is not plugged in, the Windows XP boots OK and after plugging the cable back in and repairing network connection everything is working fine.

The machine does not have this problem when I work with other networks.

Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Regards, Leszek
