hello
my broadband modem forgets what it doing every couple of days and it needs the power disconnecting for 10 seconds to remind it.
i would like to be able to do this automatically when a program i've written recognises that the net is off-line.
what is the best way to achieve this?
If you've already written the program to determine if you're connected, you can purchase an X10 kit (transceiver, firecracker module for your serial port, and an appliance module to control your modem's power source. Install bottlerocket (for Linux), or some other automatable program to control the firecracker, and when your program detects the outage, send a signal to turn off the modem, then turn it back on!
