Any CLECs in Verizon territory? DSL Extreme? Speakeasy?
Every area (well almost) of the country has small operators who resale the basic phone company's product. Last mile, modem, and CO interface are the phone companies, then the traffic is routed to the independent.
Search dslreports.com for folks in your area.
I can highly recommend easynet. Their support is outstanding.
