Wireless usb dongle vs pci card

Jul 01, 2006 1 Replies

I've read some posts on usenet and also on forums online explaining which is more reliable but I receive conflicting information, so I ended up having to post here. I was wondering if I have a distance of about 15 feet that requires a wireless connection, is it better to go with a PCI card rather than a USB dongle (eg Netgear WG111)? I won't have to worry so much about signal strength because my laptop is doing fine with the wireless, so I just wanted to know what an updated consensus on this is.

Thanks,

Probably won't matter. Just be sure the wireless adapter supports whatever security you're using (WPA strongly advised over WEP).
