Problems with Linksys WPC54G

Mar 25, 2006 2 Replies

I have a WRT54G wireless G router which seems to be working correctly because visitors to my house are getting 54mps on their laptops.Problem is: I have a Linksys WPC54G adapter in my notebook and all I ever get is 11 mps. Any ideas on how I can get 54mps on my notebook?

Three things off the top of my head:

1) Update your drivers to the latest available FOR THAT VERSION OF HARDWARE! Linksys is well-known for incompatible hardware revisions, and installing the wrong drivers can really confuse things. If there's no hardware version listed, it's V1.0 2) Configure your drivers to allow "b" and "g" mode. There should be some configuration settings in Device Manager. 3) Something could be broken in your WPC, try another one or call Linksys for support and troubleshooting assistance.
