Most powerful PCMCIA card?

I was told that this card UBIQUITI SRC 300mW is the best. Is this true or is the Buffalo products better? Thanks.

Well, let's do the math and see if this exercise is worth the effort.

Typical client radio: 50mw Senao: 100mw/200mw UBIQUITI: 300mw.

Range doubles for every 6dB increase in xmit power (assuming identical antennas). For omni antennas, coverage area increases 4x for every

6dB increase in xmit power.

Therefore: Milliwatts dB over Range 50mw Increase 50 0 0 100 3 1.4x 200 6 2.0x 300 7.8 2.5x 1000 13 4.5x

Of course, you need to have an equal power increase at the other end of the link in order to take advantage of the transmit power increase. You will not see a range increase unless you can hear the reply from the other end. If the other end is running much lower transmit power, the useable range will be the same. Methings you would do better with an improved antenna, which increases the range in both directions.
