"MiFi" recommednations: unlocked, and using AA/AAA batteries

Nov 30, 2010 5 Replies

Is there a good MiFi (or -alike) device that is unlocked, works on most 3G and GSM networks (4G would be a bonus, nott really required) and can be powered by AA/AAA batteries?

thanks

of course, mifi isnt made by verizon, they buy em from novatel, stick their name on someone elses product, resell em, and novatel owns the name mifi (MiFi is a registered trademark of Novatel Wireless, Inc.).... see the full range of products that do exactly what you asked on both gsm and cdma systems (both domestic and international)....

Of course, none ofthe Novatel MiFis use AA/AAA batteries (but rechargeable Li-ion), so they don't 'do exactly what I asked'...

bzzt, thanks for playing

you do realize they all have external power jacks (actually part of the mini usb type a connector)... you can plug any power pack into it (sure it has a rechargeable built in, but no reason you cant use external power also) made that way in case the power dies from the internal rechargable

He doesn't want just any solution, he wants a sub-optimized solution...

could be, or maybe just ignorant of reality, or been told fallacies by the verizon salesperson....
