LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY WITH ALL BARS UP

Nov 02, 2006 1 Replies

Hello.

Just installed win xp pro. Installed the new driver for wireless network adapter. Connection is set but not working! It says "Limited or no connectivity" with all the bars up... Device manager says hardware is working properly. Please help!

Actually not connected -- that's a Windows lie.

DHCP has failed.

Likely security key mismatch. Verify by turning off *ALL* security as a test. If that works, turn security back on. If using WEP (bad idea -- use WPA instead), be sure to enter all keys in *HEX* (not characters/ASCII). Don't use MAC filtering or turn SSID broadcast off, which won't help security but will cause problems.
