Could someone explain the v.92 and v.44 or 46 stuff?

TY

V.92 is a dial-up modem spscification. V.44 is a data compression specification. V.46 - I have never heard of.

Why do you want to know about slow dial-up (modem) connections in an alt.internet.wireless group - surely you're not putting a dial-up modem on a router??!

He was obviously lost and Google was offline (again).
