hi. i need to connect my cell phone to my pc via 802.11 inorder to transfer files from one device to the other. is this possible

802.11 what? 802.11a 5.8 GHz...no. 802.11b/g 2.4GHz...mebbe, if you have a WiFi enabled phone.

Why not simply use Bluetooth or tethering cable.
