What does the 1394 connection in winxp suppose to do ?? I ran cat5 out to a workshop to be able to network a computer and came across this option in the network connections window.

It would not work for me but the LAN connection did ??

Please advise,

Thanks...

It's for a Firewire Network Adapter, versus a wired network and NIC, PCI or PC Card Wireless or a USB wired or wireless device. You can safely disable it if you are not using any Firewire Net adapter.

I had problems with the 1394 Network Adapter feature on one of my laptops. It kept the PC from going into Suspend.
