which 150 pots line pbx box?

I need a pbx system with a capacity of 150 analog pots lines. This system will always be completely isolated from the public telephone system so I need zero trunk line capability. It needs to be able to accomodate a minimum of 4 simultaneous party line conversations with at least 5 participants each. (more is better). It must come with all necessary software, documentation, and access privledges to allow us to adjust it's configuration. Dependence on a vendor's services beyond the purchase and installation of the equipment is not an option.

This will be used as an inter-communication system in a large multi-building government test facility.

Any suggestions?

Agreed. Mitel SX2000 Light. The conference card is optional but would provide some additional conferencing headroom and so is prolly a good idea. One Main Control cabinet plus 1 peripheral cabinet + 1 DSU cabinet and 12 ONS line cards would give you 192 line capacity with no trunks. (DSU can is there for the conference card). Depending upon the distance between buildings you might need more than 1 peripheral can and/or have to use 8-port OPX cards in lieu of 16-port ONS cards. Either way it's doable. Maximum 8-parties total per conference. The SX2000 Light offers dual redundant processors and dual redundant file system. Beware, secondary market systems cannot be re-licensed. Station-to-station CallerID is possible with the ONS/CLASS feature bit and ONS/Class line cards.

There are only 12 DTMF receivers (normally used only during dialing/call setup) on the peripheral switch controller card. Ordinarily this is sufficient, but if you want to do station-to-station callerID I'd recommend adding a separate/additional DTMF receiver card. This would take one of your 12 peripheral card slots, reducing the line count to 176.

Analog station callerID is not available with the OPX line card. OPX cards are also only 8 ports each so you'd need a 2nd peripheral cabinet. OPX cards also operate using a -48v line and include surge protection which is not available with the 16-port ONS or ONS/Class line cards. ONS cards use only -27v for the line.

Hee, hee,... Just for s**ts and giggles, you might set yourself up with a double three-stack of SB-3614A(V)/TT military switchboards. They're even mildly water resistant. In fact, you can use DTMF phones now too!
