Difference between TCAP Request Primitive and Indication Primitive

Oct 12, 2008 1 Replies

Hi,

Can anyone please explain to me the difference between TCAP Request Primitive and Indication Primitive. I mean when is Request primitive used and when is Indication primitive used?

----------------------------------------------------- Parameter | Primitive: TC-INVOKE |

----------------------------------------------------- | Request | Indication |

-----------------------------------------------------

thanks Rohit

Rohit,

An indication is received by the TCAP user from the TCAP service access point. A request is received by the TCAP service access point from the TCAP user.

When a TCAP user sends a TC-INVOKE request on a service access point it will be received at by the destination TCAP user as a TC-INVOKE indication.
