I would like to make something that I can use a motion sensor like on outdoor light to alert me when there is movement in a area in my house. I want to place the sensor in one place and have it light a light blud in another area of my house.
I would like to do this as cheap as possible this doesn't have to be a major security device.
X-10 probably has the solution you're looking for.
Well, this won't turn on a light without some modification, but you would have a remote ding-dongy thing you could carry around the house.
X10 makes some devices which do exactly what you want.
