I'm in need of an IR-based system that is capable of switching contacts for an alarm control panel. This would be for an office environment, ideally where several people would have 2 or 3 button transmitters. Each button would operate a different contact closure within a controller, which would be used with an alarm control panel to perform a single switched function (request-to-exit, duress, etc.). What I need would essentially be similar to Linear's DXS wireless system, but within the IR domain (as opposed to RF). Are there any COTS systems (or combination of systems) that would be suitable for this sort of application?
