Old 616 Auxillary Ringer Relay

Nov 14, 2005 1 Replies

I have a customer with an old Norstar 616 with DR2. The auxillary ringer contacts don't work anymore. If I manually apply a short to the contacts, the night ringer will ring.

The programming is set for night service, auxillary ringing per line, etc.

Is there anything I can do inside the cabinet (yes, inside the box that says "no user serviceable parts inside") to try to get this thing to operate again? Otherwise I guess they're looking at a new ksu.

Thanks. Jim

Sounds like the contacts burned up. Someone supplied direct ring voltage to them and didn't use them as a slave relay as intended. That said if you open the cabinet you should be able to find the relay if memory serves correct their should be seven six together for the lines and one apart sort of for the aux. ringer. If you run into trouble repost and I'll dig out the exact location.
