2616 Phone Hunt

I have a phone that will not hunt to the set extension. When the phone is in use, when someone trys to call it rings busy. Does anyone have an idea of what would be preventing this? I want it to hunt if it's busy to extension 1478. Below is a TN printout.

Thanks in advance.

Set Forward Busy Denied (FBD) in the CLS to Forward Busy Allowed (FBA)

You don't need anything in FDN or HUNT to let the phone hunt down to extension 1478. Just set LHK to 2.

Nul out FDN, set HUNT to "0" (or "000") and set LHK to 2. Read about "Short Hunt" in your manual.

Good luck.

Should've have mentioned that LHK is "Last Hunt Key." You can set that to anything you want, so the phone could hunt to ext. 1268 if you wanted it to.

So will LHK 2 make the phone hunt to the extension programmed on button

02? That is what I'm getting from your reply.

Yes. (And I may have misused the term "short hunt.")

The request was for the call to go to 1478 on busy, if you set LHK to 2 it will go to the SCN on key 1 first (1473) so set LHK to 0 & change FBD to FBA.

Whatever you try is fine, but do not use FBA unless you want DID calls to this set to ring the attendant. FBA is not what it sounds like.

I see no MARP entries - if you do not use MARP - here is your explaination - from the books - ~~~ Hunting is controlled by the MADN Redirection Prime (MARP) Terminal Number (TN). If the MARP system option is disabled, Hunting proceeds as if MARP did not exist.

If all the telephones in the Multiple Appearance Directory Number (MADN) group are Meridian1 proprietary telephones, ringing telephones are placed at the top of the DN list, and non-ringing telephones are placed at the bottom.

If a Multiple Appearance Directory Number appears in a group with several telephone types, the telephone type affects the position of the TN in the list. The analog (500/2500 type) telephones are listed at the top, and Meridian1 proprietary telephones are listed in numerical TN order at the bottom of the list. A service change to an analog (500/2500 type) telephone moves its TN to the top of the list. A service change to a Meridian1 proprietary telephone moves it to the bottom of the list. Call redirection follows the TN order from top to bottom. ~~~
