My new apartment has a built-in heater/ac unit. That is a standard 220V 20A receptacle. There is a X10 appliance module for it:

Thank you! I had assumed it was just a 220V socket, but after googling, I didn't come up with anything that looked like that. Goes to show it isn't always enough!

For 20A circuits, one blade is rotated 90-degrees
