Light timer with new DST settings?

May 22, 2007 3 Replies

I'm looking for a light timer to replace one that just broke that contols my front porch light. It installs where the light switch is. I've seen some that adjust for daylight savings time, but haven't found any yet that claim to have the new DST settings built-in. Anyone know of one on the market that will accurately adjust for DST now? I'm not looking for X-10, just a standalone.

I'm not sure that would work for me. I assume what you describe would be controlled by a light sensor, but where would the sensor be? The light switch is inside the house, and the light itself is enclosed in a housing.

The sensor is usually on the light fixture outside. The fixtures also usually contain a motion sensor that will turn on the light fro someone approaching after the light is off.
