enOcean

Hello, All!

Has anyone used this technology in home automation? Were there any difficulties? Please, your emotions and facts.

I haven't tried it but it looks too pricey and too dicey (requiring a field strength meter for planning where to place sensors, repeaters, etc.) for DIY installation.

Not so expensive as when using EIB devices. And it does not need any wires. So it can be simply integrated into houses, where everything is done already

Battery operated devices are also wireless and cost about 20% as much even without factoring in the enOcean repeaters that appear to be needed. It seems like a very high premium to pay for battery-less operation.
