When I type in a web page address in my browser does my browser software open a random port? Am I correct in saying that the web server my browser connects to will open port 80 to listen for incoming connections? Can someone explain the concept of ports please? (I have searched for an explaination but could not find a really good one anywhere, they all seem to be very vague!).
Thanks in advance
