I'm sure that many of you found (like I did) that you could increase the performance of your Pc by 25% or more by replacing NAV2005 with AVG or anything else. Has anyone tried 2006 to see if it still slows it down?
I have NIS 2006 and it like NAV 2006 no longer is coded to support Win9x / WinMe. So it is a true XP / 2000 app and I see no slowdown at all compared to AVG which I uninstalled prior to installing NIS 2006.

Do you mean that NIS 2006 would not run on Win'98SE or just that it will not be efficient?

It won't run on anything below 2000/XP. It's much better than the '04 and '05 versions. I had many, many problems and funny errors with 04 and 05. They seem to have gotten things right in 06.
