Ethernet pulse shape specification

Can someone help me find a specification for the pulse shape specification for an ethernet pulse. What I am interested in is the limits for rise and fall times.

I have searched google and can't find anything specific about the pulse shape.

Many thanks in advance

That depends on the PMD layer you are looking for. The source is the IEEE 802.3 standard, which you can find at:

formatting link
Enter the info they ask for, then search the part of the standard you need.

For example, if you're looking for the 1000BASE-T, you need to look at

802.3 Clause 40, which is in Section 3. Waveforms and test fixtures for 100BASE-T are described in 40.6.

The info is specific to each PMD, however.
