VPN to PIX on a different IP address

Feb 19, 2007 2 Replies

Hi all,

VPN's are created with the Cisco VPN client to the outside IP address of a Cisco PIX 501 (6.3(5)). The IP adress of the outside is

192.168.10.2.

Is it possible to use a different IP address, say 192.168.10.3, for the VPN clients to connect to?

Thanks.

No, the address connected to must be the IP address of the "closest" interface. The only exception to that is for the case of management interfaces, but when you connect to those you can only get to the PIX itself.

Thought so, but thank you for confirming those thoughts.
