Visual Switch Manager Java

I'm running s/w version 12.0(5)XU for a Catalyst 3524-XL and whenever I install my 1000Base-T GBIC, the Cluster Management Suite (CMS) gives me a message pop-up saying "Visual Switch Manager has detected a change in hardware configuration and needs to redraw device". When I click "OK", it doesn't add it, but displays the message again. This will continue indefinitely. I am using Java

I tried using both gigabit ports and power-cycling, but nothing has worked. Any ideas would be appreciated.
