Is there a way to configure windows xp to connect to a vpn without using the Cisco VPN client?

I mean, I wouldn't like to install the Cisco Client VPN, and perhaps XP is enough to connect to the vpn.

You can use PPTP. It is inbuilt into XP systems. Or, L2TP with IPSEC (very tough to configure on an XP tho)
