Connect Windows XP VPN Client to Cisco 1800 series

Hi,

we want to setup a vpn connection from a Windows XP Client to a 1802W Cisco router using the microsoft vpn client.

Now, the router is configured so that one can connect to the router using the cisco vpn client. From this point, the microsoft vpn client didn't work at all.

So I googled around and found out that (at least for some other cisco vpn device) it is possible to connect a win2000 box to. I modified the configuration and now the microsoft vpn client tries to connect but fails when (or after) validating username and password.

Does anybody know how to configure the ms vpn client and the 1802W in order to connect successfully? I'm a Cisco newbie ...

order to connect successfully?

PPTP uses GRE (protocol 47) and TCP port 1723 so ensure you are accepting this traffic in your access lists
