Multiple access point cross floor

Mar 13, 2006 1 Replies

Hi,

I've a site will setup multiple access point (Cisco ap1231) on 2 different floors (3 aps on 1st floor & 2 aps on 2nd floor). One of the ap on 1st floor acts as a root and the other will be repeater. On 2nd floor, the radio signal couldn't be detected by any ap on 1st floor, but there's a switch linked to 1st floor. Can I connect these ap to that switch, setup these 2 aps as repeater thru the wired connection ? or any other suggestion ?

Many thanks !

You should try to home run each AP to a switch and not use repeater mode.

Make sure you alternate the channels based on the site layout.
