Help needed with Cisco Aironet 1220 reset open original image

I recently bought one of these on eBay (with an A radio), all worked fine, confugred etc, nothing to complicated, basic encryption etc.

Anyways, 6 weeks down the line, it's stopped working(not sure if the wirelss link is still working, i no longer have a client), it no longer accepts the user name and pasword when connecting to it via HTTP to configure it( i am not miss typing it )

Not a big deal, i'll reset it.......... it is a huge deal!! None of the documents on cisco work??? So I am stuck with abit of hardware worth £600 that isn't working!

Can anyone help, I am fiarly new to cisco, I have a working Cisco PIX

501 running my internet, so that should tell you what level I am at!

Anyways, with the console pluged in, this is what appears when i reboot (remove power, attatch power)

Any help would be appreciated

could oyu tell us what you have tried and what the results were?

I basically tried...........

holding the mode button in while powering up

and the reset document which says press "esc" at bootup via console to bring up other menus, no luck!

i'm major confused

Thank you for the speedy reply, unfortunatley it is that exact document that does not seem to work!

I do not see any summary screen or anything simlar during boot up, only what I have pasted here already.

The line "Type within 5 seconds for menu" never appears, am I being a wally or something?

Also if there is a problem with the ethernet, why am I able to ping it and attempt to conenct to it via HTTP?

Thanks

PS, I am new to this google groups thing

Your a star!

I was always looking at the Ctrl X command for the older ones. It's Ctrl W I needed

Thanking for pinting it out that although mine says 1.00 it's the new

1.00 so it was newer than 1.02!

Brilliant!

Thank you so much!

Ok. You have a VxWorks AP "

"For password recovery/factory reset procedure.

the "AP Installation Key" is still there. Good. Never, never, never delete this file from Flash.

The Configuration is deleted by formatting the Config: and then copying the Installation Key back from Flash to Config.

the MiniPCI slot is empty

the CardBus slot has a A Radio

The FastEthernet link cannot be established, so the AP falls back to repeater

but cannot find a root AP to associate.

Doublecheck ethernet connection, Duplex setting. If this doesn't help a factory reset procedure is described in the link above.

This document was written for the older AIR-340. So the your Bootloader

1.0 is newer than the 1.02 shown. So this one (1.02 and later) is for you. I never recovered any VxWorks 1200 (they all run IOS), but a few 340 and 350. And it always worked with a straight-through wired serial cable.
