Hellow, I am trying to setup a FWSM on a Cat.6500 running IOS. I would like to put the MSFC behind the firewall, and use one of the phyical interfaces on the switch to act as the outside interface on the FWSM. Anyone know a way to do this? Thanks.
FWSM in front of MSFC

Just create a vlan to be your "outside" interface on the fwsm, then pick a physical interface and configure it as an access port to that vlan. Pass it to your FWSM in your "firewall vlan-group" statement, but do NOT create an "interface vlan xx" for it--you don't want the msfc to see that one.
Wow, pretty simple. Worked great. Thanks for your help.
