Debugging STP BPDU source on Catalyst 2950

Jun 07, 2006 2 Replies

I'm receiving packets from another switch in the lan ; (more than 15 switches) and one of them is using STP instead of RSTP (like all the other switches do). I saw this by using 'debug spanning general' on my catalyst:

06:23:30: RSTP(327): Fa0/48 rcvd STP BPDU, changing to STP mode

How can I check the source of this packet?

thank you.

show spanning-tree int f0/48 detail

or

show spanning-tree active detail

also if the nasty running old stp is off f0/48 can you just

show cdp neighbor f0/48 detail ?
